The John Hay Poetry Society meets the second Monday of every month at 7pm at the library, and is led by Newbury Poet Laureate Dianalee Velie.
Everyone is invited to come see the winning photographs from the Lake Sunapee Protection Association’s Contest projected on the screen and hear the John Hay poets read their corresponding poems. Join us for the John Hay Poetry Society's monthly meeting, lead by Newbury's poet laureate, Dianalee Velie! This month's theme is "Queen (or King) of Hearts", and poets are invited to write poetry inspired by the prompt. All are welcome to join us to listen to the wonderful readings!

The Newbury Library and John Hay Poetry Society will be hosting Vermont Poet Laureate Chard deNiord. DeNiord is the author of six books or poetry, with Interstate(2015) as the latest publication. DeNiord is currently a professor of English at Providence College.
