We know this was not an easy decision for her, but Laura Pezone, our wonderful assistant director of seven years, has decided to take a step back from working at the Newbury library to focus more on her family. As many of you know she has two little boys at home, and she has come to realize there just aren’t enough minutes in the day to enjoy all the special moments.
We all have enjoyed getting to know her over the years, and she has in turn shaped our library for the better — especially with her innovative ideas for the children’s collection such as the Reading Railroad and Welcoming Library. We will all miss her dearly, and we wish her the best! We hope you will stop by to wish her well before or on Thursday, February 23rd, which will be her last day.
