Join Douglas Wood, SAR to learn of the capture of Fort William and Mary, which took place in New Hampshire on December 14–15, 1774. Local militia from the Portsmouth area, led by John Langdon and John Sullivan, stormed the fort and seized the garrison’s military supplies, and this pivotal act of rebellion is considered to be the first overt act of the Revolutionary War.
