SUMMARY:Chair Yoga
DESCRIPTION:THERE IS NO SHAME IN THE CHAIR YOGA GAME!! \nJoin Melodie Swanson for Sunday chair yoga! \nTaking time just for you…. A weekly reset of mind\, body and soul. \nFor the class we will focus on our breath\, align our bodies\, and be guided into meditation. \nFor those who hung with Melodie for the original yoga series\, Chair Yoga might feel like a step backwards…. we promise you it’s not! It’s a building block and confidence booster that will help you to see your limits and surpass them. You will learn poses that you can do everyday in your own home that will strengthen your core and allow you to get into proper alignment so you can extend those muscles with confidence\, while releasing the energy that can get stuck in your joints. \nThese classes are donation based- $10-20 suggested. Sign-up is required as space is limited. Call (603) 763-5803.

SUMMARY:Learn about Radon
DESCRIPTION:Join Mary Butow\, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS)\, and Tom Jarvela\, Community Advocate\, for a conversation about radon in NH and what you can do to protect yourself and your family. \nFree and open to all! Please register by calling 603-763-5803. \nDon’t want to attend in person? Join by Zoom!  \n\n\n\nIn her presentation\, Mary will provide a brief introduction to radon\, review its health effects\, regulatory framework and current initiatives for the program. The presentation information is designed to make community members aware of resources for testing and mitigating radon and how they might partner with the program to increase homeowner and renter awareness of environmental hazards. The talk will also help residents to recognize the exposure routes for radon and typical methods of treating both air and water.\n\n\nIn his presentation\, Tom will share about how he became a community advocate\, including his experience with testing and treating for radon. He will give a brief overview of the website he developed to help raise awareness about radon and let library patrons across the state know about which libraries currently have programs to lend handheld continuous radon monitors (HCRMs).
