SUMMARY:Moving from Colonies\, to Confederation\, to Nation: Revolution and the Development of a National Identity with Eric Boyer
DESCRIPTION:In the first part of this talk\, we saw how the “we” of Jefferson’s Declaration was born from a fundamental tension between two competing visions of liberty; a tension temporarily set aside during the Revolution. Now\, in the second part of this talk\, we will trace how this philosophical conflict re-emerged after the war\, threatening to unravel the new nation under the Articles of Confederation. \nThis session will follow America’s journey from a fragile confederation to a unified nation\, revealing how the ongoing effort to resolve this tension offers a crucial lens through which to understand our history and confront the political challenges we face today. \nCall (603)763-5803 for more information!
